How To Decorate A Window

In deciding on what window treatments to use in decorating bay windows, consider what you want to place in the angled space under your bay window. Window seats with fabric-covered foam cushion are popular additions to bay windows.
Bay windows are several windows that are angled to allow for a piece of furniture to fit in the space such as a window seat or a chaise lounge. They can look striking and glamorous. If you think about the look you want to create in the entire room, decorating bay windows is easier.
Plantation shutters to each window are one way to accentuate bay windows. Have you heard of these shutters before? Well, they are simply louvers or jalousies that come in various shapes and sizes to adapt widely different shapes of windows and doors. Traditionally, plantation shutters are interior blinds made from broad slats of wood assembled in a solid frame. The design promotes free flow of air while creating shade to keep the interior cool.
Roman shades and cafe curtains are just some of the window treatments that can be used when decorating bay windows. Roman shades are a type of window covering designed to help block the sun and shade the room. They can be raised and lowered with a cord, allowing portions of the window to be exposed while blocking other areas.
They are available in wide variety of colors to match other items of décor such as tablecloths, upholstery and pillowcases. They can also be made with a design that is revealed once the shade is lowered.

Decorative Window Screens

When you think of a security window screen, what comes to mind? Do you think of big, heavy looking grills that cover your window or mesh-like screen that is a real pain in the neck to clean? Worse still, do you imagine rusting metal bars lowering the value of your house? The good news is that now there are window screens that will give you security while also looking good, plus giving you a number of other benefits you may not have considered.
Today, good quality screens are often made out of one piece of pressed stainless steel, pre-treated with an anti corrosion treatment and then powder coated. To further prevent any galvanic corrosion, the screen sheet is completely covered with a PVC membrane before it is put into the extruded aluminium frame. This type of quality product virtually eliminates corrosion so your money is well spent on a good looking product, without obstructing your view.
This type of window screen is also extremely easy to clean as the pressed steel does not easily collect grime and debris. This is very different to the mesh type screens which can trap grime resulting in plenty of cleaning.
